National Programs of Marwari Yuva Manch Jaipur Capital

A brief outline of the programmers declared by All India Marwari Yuva Manch as NATIONAL PROGRAMS is given below:

National unity & integrity

The Efforts of Manch for National Unity and Integrity began with “National Unity Rally” on 18th January, 1985 during the First National Convention of the Manch in the city of Guwahati, which received appreciation from all corners. The Second National Convention at Delhi also did not lag behind. Shanti Sadbhav Padyatra was organized on 9th April, 1988 which started from the convention site of Shah Auditorium and dispersed at Red Fort while on the way the participants were received by a large number of Sikh brothers at Shish Ganj Gurdwara, where the participants performed Sikh rituals and prayed for national integrity. The Third National Convention at Siliguri moved one step ahead with the declaration of the convention as the CONVENTION OF UNITY and naming it UNICON 91. The theme of the Rally organized on the concluding day of the convention on the 25th February, 1991 was LONG LASTING PEACE through NATIONAL UNITY & INTEGRITY.

The second phase of “KNIT INDIA” campaign in the leadership of the famous Social Worker and Freedom Fighter Baba Amte started from Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh on 1st November, 1988 and ended at Oakha in Gujarat on 26th March 1989. The participants of the campaign belonging to different States and representing the wide cross-section of the country traveled the long distance from East to West on cycle and carried with them the message of National Unity & Integrity in which Manch also participated at various levels.

Apart from providing all the 75 cycles to the participants of the campaign, the Manch actively associated itself with the campaign by arranging reception of the team, their food, accommodation and public meetings. The leading role was taken on this campaign by Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Bokakhat, Dimapur, Shillong, Guwahati, Nagaon, Bilasipara, Calcutta and Siliguri, while others are Delhi, Doom Dooma, Sitamarhi, Lakhisarai, Jamshedpur, Sugauli, Ranchi, Motihari and Deoghar, who have also contributed towards the cost of cycles.

Manch is playing an important role towards national integration through person to person contact reflected in its humanitarian services throughout the country irrespective of caste, creed and religion, active involvement of other communities in its various projects and programmes, linguistic integration through teaching of national language Hindi to Non-Hindi speaking persons and regional languages to Hindi-speaking persons, cultural integration through presentation of cultural programmes of different States on a common platform, literary integration through seminars, symposiums, sahitya goshthies, kavi-sammelans, debates, group discussions and the like on the occasion of national festivals, historical days organizational celebrations etc.

Welfare programme for handicapped

Under this National Programme, Manch branches at Delhi in the National Capital, Bargarh, Balasore & Cuttack in Orissa, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Nagaon with Morigaon, Bokakhat, Tezpur, Dergaon, and Shillong in North Eastern States, Siliguri Dinhata & Central Calcutta in West Bengal and Bettiah, Jharia, Patna, Dhanbad, Chaibasa, Motihari, Bhagalpur, Muzzaffarpur in Bihar, Korba, Imphal, Tandur, have most successfully organized Artificial Limbs Transplantation Camps.

These branches have also fitted calipers to the polio-affected persons at their camps. Many of them have also distributed sticks, baisakhies, shoes, tricycles, wheel chairs and medicines to the needy handicapped in good number. The complicated cases were forwarded to Mahaveer Vikalang Sahayata Samiti, Jaipur for free treatment there, while branches bearing to and fro traveling expenses.

It will be worthwhile to mention here that 15 to 20% of the total artificial limbs transplantation in the country during this financial year took place in the above mentioned camps of the Manch.

Ambulance & Funeral Van Services

Manch branches at Dibrugarh, Nagaon, Guwahati, Dhubri, Moranhat, Hojai, Bijoynagar, N. Lakhimpur & Tinsukia in Assam, Shillong in Meghalaya, Dergaon and Bongaigaon in Assam, Siliguri, North Calcutta, Jhalda and Rishra in West Bengal, Betaiah Chakradharpur, Sitamarhi, Chaibasa, Chas—Bokaro, Khagaria, Dumka, Motihari, Forbesganj, Jamshedpur, Jharia, Katrasgarh and Deoghar in Bihar, Delhi, Burhanpur, Korba, Pathalgaon, Jatni, Bhubaneswar, Gorakhpur are very efficiently running the ambulance services for the general public. The Guwahati Branch of the Manch is first to start the Dead Body Carrying Van Service followed by Siliguri & Dergaon branches.

Drinking water

The Purbottar Pradesh Unit of Manch has declared “Drinking Water Scheme for Rural Primary Schools and Namghars” as a State Programme under which Manch branches at Udalguri, Kokarjhar, Kharupetia, Bokakhat, Sapatgram, Doom Dooma, Guwahati, Rangia, Fakiragram, etc. have successfully arranged water supply through digging of wells as well as installations of tubewells in Primary Schools and Namghars—the prayer & worship centers of local people.

Apart form that a good number of branches have undertaken Drinking Water Supply project in rural as well as urban areas, important of them are Rishra, Baleshwar, Balangir, Guwahati, Raigarh, Tandur, Bangomunda, Chas-Bokaro, Karkend, Dumka, Azamgarh, Cuttack, Rajgangpur, Patna, Sambalpur, Katrasgarh, Jamshedpur, Gorakhpur, Dibrugarh, Kamareddy, Kantabanji, Jharia, Doom Dooma, Dhanbad, Motihari, Jaipur, Jhajha, Madhupur, Jalna, Dimapur, Teghra, Naharkatia, Rangia, Bokakhat, Lakhisarai and Muzaffarpur etc.

Self employment

The national headquarters has prepared a comprehensive plan of self-employment. The guidelines have been forwarded to all branches for working in this field.

Relief

The Manch has been ever alert towards its duties in times of natural calamities and disasters. Be it flood, drought or earthquake, the wide spread branches of Manch very diligently and promptly served the cause of humanity by rendering all round services. The victims of Latur and Osmanabad earthquake were offered medical and other supports as also monetary contribution through the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund by all the active branches of the Manch.

Voluntary seven point marriage code

The code developed by the Manch has well been received by the community which bears long term impact in the field of social reforms. The appeal for austerity in personal functions like Wedding, birthday and anniversary parties is also gaining momentum as several branches have come forward to mobilize public opinion in this regard.

Fight aginst bride-torture & bride burning

Manch is playing a leading role in this field. Good number of branches have successfully handled cases of bride torture as well as bride-burning in their areas with overwhelming appreciation from all sections of the society. Manch has also been rendering help to the widows as well as the divorcees in deserving cases.

National marwari foundation

The “NATIONAL MARWARI FOUNDATION” founded during its third National Convention at Siliguri with the object of playing an important role in the areas of Public Service, Relief during natural calamities. Handicapped Welfare, Social uplift and Educational Scholarships has started functioning. First of the four permanent artificial limbs centre has been commenced with purchase of land at Siliguri to cater to the day to day need of implanting the artificial limbs, the All India Marwari Yuva Manch having decided to set up its own artificial limbs manufacturing centers, has through its Siliguri branch already purchased suitable land at Siliguri and the first phase of construction has been completed. This centre has been working from March 97. This centre is likely to manufacture about 1000 limbs per annum and cater to the requirements of the eastern part of country. Under the National Marwari Foundation Schemes, the All India Marwari Yuva Manch has a plan to start a Youth Hostel for higher studies students at its National Head Quarter at Delhi.
